New objects production (like rapid prototyping) allows to have short term results: in this way the distance timing between the idea and the realization of it is way shorter than it used to be. This happended just thanks to the new technology. 3D printer is one of the new technology that is daily used in the design enviroment.
The dress presents a geometric decoration in a plastic material (PLA) used by 3D printer. PLA is a biodegradable material, made by renewable resource, like starch corn, which means that is a more sustainable choice compare to petroleum plastic. The idea for the realization of the dress was to mix innovative and original material with classic fabric usually used for haute couture. PLA has been used to create decorative geometric elements. Square is the form used as a base. The square is a figure that express numerical perfection, rationality and simplicity. Curve lines have been added to create dynamism and movement.
